NRF 2012 FLAG HANDOVER-TAKEOVER CEREMONY

On 12 Jan 2012 the official Handover-Takeover ceremony of the Flag of NATO Response Force (NRF) was held in Thessaloniki. Within this context LtGen BASIAKOULIS Georgios, Commander NATO Deployable Corps Greece (NDC-GR), undertook responsibilities for the Land Component of the NRF 2012 from LtGen SAVAS Ismail Serdar, Commander NATO Rapid Deployable Corps of Turkey (NRDC – TU).

It is announced that on 12 January 2012, at NATO Deployable Corps Greece(NDC-GR) HQ facilities, “Camp Pedion Areos” in Thessaloniki, a ceremony will take place for the official Handover and Takeover of the flag of NATO Response Force (NRF).
NATO Rapid Deployable Corps of Turkey(NRDC-TU),which was the Land Component Command for NRF 17(2nd semester 2011),will handover this responsibility to NDC-GR which has been certified successfully as the Land Component Command for NRF 2012.

Intelligence Seminar “SIKINOS 11” was conducted on 13th and 14th Dec 2011 at the NDC-GR premises. The seminar was primarily dedicated to the exchange of various and different approaches for the NRF stand-by period. Other NATO HQs’ perspectives, based on the operational experience gained during deployments and major exercises, were extremely valuable for all the participants and especially for G2 personnel.
