The German National Reunification Day is one of the magnificent events in Europe during the past 15 years.
On October 3, 1989, the Berlin Wall –the most potent symbol of the Cold War-which divided Germany in two parts since the early sixties, fell down and gave freedom, stability and joy to the whole German nation.
Because of its great importance, 3rd October 1989 (Reunification Day) established as German National Day.
On October 4th, the German Senior National Representative (SNR) of HQ NDC-GR, LTC Josef Greipl, in behalf of the German Community, hosted a reception in the Officers Club of Thessaloniki and invited all members of NDC-GR to celebrate this day.
There, LTC Greipl addressed this day and briefed the auditory on this historical event.
COM NDC-GR Lt. General Zoukas thanked the German SNR and the road to the German delicatessens as Weisswurst, Sauerkraut, Kasselerbraten and Leberkaes was open.
The spouses of the German officers gave their best to decorate the tables and support the whole event.

Additionally EUROPE could get rid of the “Iron Curtain” and this was the end of the so-called “Cold War” in the world. Since this time, the 3rd October 1990 (Reunification Day) became the highest importance in Germany and gets established as National Day.
On the 4th of October, the German Senior National Representative HQ NDC-GR, LtC Josef Greipl, on behalf of the German Community invited all members of NDC-GR HQs to celebrate this day together with our allied friends as a reception in the Greek Officers’ Club of Thessaloniki. After giving a speech by LtC Greipl to remind the auditory about this historical event, the Commander NDC-GR HQs gave his thanks to the Germans. The famous German food like “Weisswurst”, “Sauerkraut”, “Kasselerbraten” and “Leberkaes” were served and the spouses of the German soldiers gave their best to decorate the tables and support the whole event.
Especially for CSM Klement, it was an extraordinary feeling the hospitality of the Greek military community and to embraced by the bulk of the HQ personnel.
