NDC-GR, according to its annual training cycle will conduct the exercise “STEADFAST JOIST - GORDIAN KNOT ‘09” for this year. The final phase of the exercise will take place at “BALANICA” camp in Litochoro, from 21 March to 03 April 2009.

“STEADFAST JOIST - GORDIAN KNOT 09” is a Command Post-Deployment Exercise (CPX) 2nd level designed to train our HQ in planning and execution of a CJTF type operation, as a Land Component Command (LCC) of the Following on Forces, after transitioning from NATO Response Force (NRF) as initial entry enabling force during Peace Support Operation (PSO). The exercise will be conducted in parallel and under the command of JFC HQ Naples, in coordination with HQs of CC Air Izmir, CC Mar Naples and JWC Stavanger.

The Distinguished Visitors Day (DVD) will take place on Tuesday 31 March 2009, at the Main Element of the HQ Command Post. The leadership of the Hellenic Armed Forces, the Commanders of the ACO NATO HQ as well as local authorities have been invited to attend.

The training audience of the exercise will be the HQ NDC-GR and its subordinated and affiliated units from Greece and Europe. In total the HQ strength during the exercise “STEADFAST JOIST - GORDIAN KNOT ‘09” will be 1200 troops coming from 15 countries.
